Panel

The collection of bits so far.

Current thinking of a possible panel layout. Restricted to DAY VFR in the UK but equipping for IMC to keep the hand in as can legally fly under the hood with a safety pilot on board to keep current for the IMC rating. The only thing I'm not fitting is an ADF as the rumor is these are getting the boot over the next few years. The new Dynon flight deck 180 is looking favorite at the moment.
Another option. But then the AF-3500EE came on the market and all change. See panel page 2 for the final product.

The final panel layout almost, I've also built the centre console and installed the quadrant. To help clean up the panel I've also made a sub panel to hold all the breakers and switches. Above the fuel valve is a row of switches, land light, Taxi light, flaps, fuel pump and pitot heat. Above them there are 4 controls for oil cooler door, alt. air, park brake and cabin heat. The breakers to the right are the main bus and to the left Avoinics bus.
This is the final panel layout with most of the expensive parts installed. The AF-3500EE is on order but will be a few months before it arrives. It looks like a powered up Trio, but no, it's a paper cutout! Far right top will be a CDI head for the Kx155. I'm planning on making an interface to make the KNS80 mimic a SL30 so the hsi on the AF-3500 will work with it. Watch this space.
This is the pre-punched map box kit that fits into the instrument panel.
Put the two halves together and you get the box.
King KMA-26 Audio panel
King KNS-80, RNAV, VOR, Glide-slope and DME in one unit.
King KX-155 Nav/Comm & King KI203 Nav indicator
The Stack with KT76A transponder (disposable item when Mode 'S' becomes mandatory). All wired and tested ready to fit. The 203 is connected to the 155. Still require an indicator for the KNS80. Hope the new Dynon's next upgrade has an HSI
King Skyforce IIIC Topo GPS.

The collection of antennas to be fitted, The white rod is a RAMI AV-10 Comm antenna, the V shaped one a RAMI AV-532 NAV/GS and the two small rods are AV-22's Transponder and DME.
You can just about make out the part numbers in this photo.
